Happy new week and also a short week guys! It was so nice to be able to spend the 3 day weekend with my boys. We had a fun and relaxing long weekend. I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend too!
So one of my favorite things to do with my over the knee boots is to wear them with midi skirts and uneven hem skirts. I just really love the look and it's not something you see all the time. And from there you can totally play with layering, I think that any jacket, coat or cardigan would easily look good with a midi skirt and otk boots combo. I wore this for a dinner out, we had some family in town. The jacket was perfect for the chilly, evening weather.
When less is definitely more! I really love this dress and so happy to have found it!! The simple, minimalist style is everything on this dress. The fabric they chose and color makes it edgy. The little button and zipper details are perfect and it's seriously such an easy piece to wear which makes this easily a favorite of mine. You can also always cinch the waist with a belt if your prefer that look. Well, of course it is now sold out, but I found some similar ones and linked it above. Don't you guys love finding easy pieces like this that are just perfect for on-the go- busy days where you just have no time to put together an outfit. You just wear it and go!
I also think the dress is so perfect with OTK boots. And this particular pair is so comfortable even with heels. I literally have walked around in them all day and have not had any issues.
And since we are going for a minimal look, I thought this black Prada purse would be perfect since it is a classic, simple black purse with just a gold detail. I love investing on classic style designer purses because you can use them forever and pretty much goes with everything!

The color is so nice and another great thing about it is you can totally wear it with a dressed up look or a dressed down look like mine and still be totally festive. The shawl and wrap style just makes it so chic too!
I cannot believe we are getting close to the end of 2015!! Have you guys thought about your new year's resolutions? I onestly have not gotten the time yet but I should be doing that here pretty soon. I always love the thought of new beginnings, a new year to start off with a fresh clean slate! Would love to hear what you guys have come up with!! :)
Pink is certainly one of the prettiest color around. But I very rarely wear this color. I guess I'm just not so much a pink girl. But it is fun to rock pink every now and then and so yes, this is one of the rare moments you see me wear pink. :)
I thought it would be fun to change it up a little and go lighter for Fall. My main inspiration in putting together this outfit is this gray OTK boots! Yes this is the gray version of the black that I have been wearing and yes I definitely give both the two thumbs up. They are definitely must haves!!
We were bopping around old town when we took these photos. Some of the houses are so cute and charming and then you turn on another street and you see the oldest, craziest houses and front porches! Haha ya just never know what you'll get when you bop around old town and you'll probably see some of them on the back drop of my photos.
Anyway, just a few more days to Christmas, I still can't believe it. Me and Carter are still trying to recover from the cold we got last week. I guess we sorta passed it back and forth to each other and so recovery is taking a little bit longer. But hope we kick it off for good by the end of today.
It's our first Christmas with Carter and so it's really very special. Definitely one of the best gifts we can ever get. Now that we have our little family I'm starting to think of what new traditions our little family can start and do together. I've got some ideas but still pondering them.
Anyway, what traditions do you guys usually do during Christmas?
When you live in a place like Cali it's nice to have a light coat or jacket on hand. I live in the Northern part of California so it does get way colder than southern Cali, so in the past couple of years I have just been hoarding thick cute coats and lately I am finding that I really don't have very much lighter coats or jackets in my closet. So glad I found this really cute gray one from Choies, it's perfect for cool (not freezing cold) weather and perfect too for layering. I love its minimalist, modern style and it's such a steal!! It's seriously below $25 right now!! So if you are looking for something like this click on my link above to get it because it probably won't last long.
Anyway, this week is supposed to be a lighter week for me and Mark. (Geesh do I even know how it's like to have a "light" week?!?) but we are all trying to get over a cold now. Carter got his first cold and hope it goes away soon. He is such a trooper though, still smiling and playing all day even if his eyes and sniffles tell me he is not feeling well.
But anyway, Christmas is around the corner and I can't even believe it!! At least we got the house decorated and cleaned up and the gifts are under the tree.... so yes! It's starting to look a lot like Christmas over here! Are you guys done with your Christmas shopping? Well you still have some time. And before I forget, if you are still looking for gifts for her, on this post I am wearing probably the most comfortable heeled over the knee boots!! I am so so glad I found them.
