BECAUSE SHIRT DRESSES ARE ALWAYS A GREAT IDEA

February 3, 2015

If there's any piece of clothing that's the easier to wear, for me it would be the shirt dresses. It's one piece, with the right fabric, and its simple style you just can never go wrong. It fits all body types and you can easily dress it up or down and wear it anytime of the year. It's great to always have some shirt dresses in your wardrobe. For Winter you can layer it with coats, scarves, boots and knee high socks. For Summer you can totally rock them with your favorite sandals, gladiators and sneakers.

This perfect shirt dress is from Reverie New York. The construction, fabric and style is yet again impeccable!! Every single piece I've worn from this designer I truly, truly love! I've picked more of their simple styles with amazing little details that make the pieces so unique. But they have so much to choose from that fits everyone's style. As they say, there's something for everyone over at Reverie New York!

After my endless search for the right boots for this season, I finally found these at Aldo. It's leather, over the knee, with heels not too high and it doesn't break the bank! I have my high heeled, dressier boots but I wanted something more flat and casual for running around and these are super comfy!

Decided to wear  it with my vintage denim coat I've had for a long time. Just wanted to do a totally different take on the denim on denim look! Well ... sorta! The shirt dress fabric really is not denim although it does have a denim- like look and it's just what came to mind when I was styling it. We usually see  the denim top and jeans or denim top and shorts. This one is totally different.

CHUNKY, CHUNKY SCARVES

January 7, 2015

Yep, definitely one of my favorite pair of boots this season. It's not not completely flat heeled but it doesn't have the high stiletto heels as well. So it's really just a comfy pair you can wear out and about.  I also love the whole structure and design details of it.

I really  love this (faux) fur clutch. It's so different and it's really great for adding a layer of texture to your whole look!

Chunky, Chunky, blanket scarves!! Oh how I love them! I think out of all the different styles of scarves, the chunky blanket style is my fave! It just looks so cozy and somewhat so effortless with the hair tucked, or on a messy pony tail, or a messy bun.  I decided to wear this scarf with this awesome and super comfy sweater dress form Mango (which is on crazy sale by the way). With this growing baby bump I have been trying to find clothes that I can wear comfortably now and still be able to wear after pregnancy. And these cocoon style dresses and shift dresses are so perfect for it. I just don't want to invest on about 5 months worth of clothes you can only wear when you are pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I also love the more fitting maternity ones that show off the bump but I try to keep a balance. I always believe in 50% splurging and 50% practicality.
I've also been wanting to try out a different shade of lipstick I've never used before and that's more of the chocolate, coffee colored shade. Finally tried the ones from Nars, they have a lot of shades to choose from. From light to dark and I really like this one I am using which is the Deborah shade.

How's your week going so far? Have you guys tried on any new lips shades for the new Year? If so I'd love to hear which ones!! :)

Hello! So excited for my first post for 2015! How's the New Year been for you guys? Mark was able to get a long break from work for the Holidays so it was really nice for us to both be off work and spend some nice quality, Holiday time together. Also just wanted to give you  little update on the baby bump, I feel him move so much more now and it is the most fun thing ever! It always makes me laugh especially when the movements are strong. I just love it! This pregnancy so far has been easy and hopefully it stays that way to the end. No morning sickness and manageable tiredness.... I've also started looking at baby boys clothes and o.m.g. SO much cute stuff!! I also know now how I will decorate his room so we just need to get all the stuff together.

Anyway, this coat I am wearing is one of my favorite finds for the season! This will also be so cute belted. I can't believe how fast it sold out though. So I attached a few similar options on the links above. Hope you find one that you like.  And these boots!! I have searched for a long time for a somewhat flat heeled over the knee boots and I finally found them. Again, it sold out so fast!! So I also attached some similar links above. I am loving the combo of a short dress layered in coats and jackets or sweaters and scarves paired with over the knee boots. It gets pretty cold here so it's almost impossible to wear short dresses. But thank goodness for the over the knee boots trend it allows me to play and with short dresses, and layer them and still stay warm. I feel like I have just been wearing jeans and trousers on most days and sometimes ya just need to change it up!

Hope you guys enjoyed this outfit post and would love to hear how your New Year has been!

Kisses,
