twentyeightvia: LAYERS IN THE RAIN

We took these photos the day before I left for Los Angeles and it was totally raining and windy here in Sacramento. So I apologize for the bad lighting of the photos. With the rain pouring and the wind blowing, these were the only photos I was able to pull from the shoot. But anyway, I think they are good enough to showcase how I layered what I wore that day. I really love layering during cold weather. It's so much fun to mix and match colors, textures and fabrics. And it certainly makes Winter outfits much more fun, interesting and makes it easier for me to pull away from my go-to monochrome dark colors.

I decided to layer this scarf with my navy blue (faux) fur jacket. Taking the color blue from the scarf as an inspiration in building this look. And just wanted to wear a comfy oversized tee, went with my leather leggings and high heel, over the knee boots to dress it up and of course for extra warmth. I also usually just go with my messy pony tail but that day I decided to play with a fish tail braid to change it up a little. I am not really a master of braiding but I thought a fishtail would be a good start. I love that they have come up with so many different ways to style a braid now and my most favorite part is how you can wear them all lose and messy!! You know me, I am true supporter of messy hair. :)
